 For my 3rd book review, I wrote about some beloved characters! Book Review #3, Listen to my Trumpet! 1.        Bibliography: Willems, Mo. Listen to my Trumpet. Hyperion Books for Children, 2012. ISBN 978142315404. 2.        Plot Summary: This fun spirited book features fan favorite characters, Elephant and Piggie, in a new adventure. Piggie just got a trumpet, and is eager to show Gerald the Elephant what she has learned with it. While Piggie gleefully plays her sounds, Gerald tries hard to find compliments for her, as what she’s playing is not close to music. Once again, the two friends give a lesson in friendship that is also highly amusing for young children.  Happy Saturday night! I chose a Dr. Seuss classic for my 2nd book review. Book Review #2, One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish , Blue Fish 1.        Bibliography: Geisel, Theodore. ISBN 9780394800134 2.        Plot Summary: This rhyming book combines colorful characters, silly words, and fun ideas to make an exciting way to learn rhyme scheme and language. Young readers will delight in the repetitive phrasing that starts off with several fish in the ocean, ending with a good night’s sleep. Along the way readers will meet wumps, a Nook, and a Zans, all entertaining in a variety of activities. 3.        Critical Analysis: In Geisel’s typical style, this book feels unlimited when it comes to a silly cast of characters and phrases. Chicago: Bolden, an Agate Imprint, 2017. ISBN 9781572842243 2.        Plot Summary: This is the story of a young boy getting a haircut at his local barber shop. The story takes readers through all of the positive impacts that a new haircut can have on a person. A new haircut can be empowering, giving the confidence to do well in school, or talk to a girl you might be crushing on. At the end, the boy tips his barber well, knowing the impact his cut will have. 3.        Critical Analysis: One of the most beautiful pieces of this book are the illustrations.
